How to Screen Record on iPhone – How-To Geek
Screen recording on an iPhone is a built-in feature available on devices running iOS 11 and later. Here’s how to screen record on an iPhone:
Enable Screen Recording in Control Center:
- Open Settings: Go to the “Settings” app on your iPhone’s home screen.
- Control Center: In the Settings app, scroll down and tap on “Control Center.”
- Customize Controls: In the Control Center settings, select “Customize Controls.”
- Add Screen Recording: Under “MORE CONTROLS,” find “Screen Recording” and tap the green “+” button next to it. This will add the Screen Recording icon to your Control Center.
Screen Record Your iPhone:
- Access Control Center: From any screen on your iPhone, swipe down from the top-right corner (on iPhone X and later) or swipe up from the bottom of the screen (on iPhone 8 and earlier) to open Control Center.
- Start Screen Recording: In Control Center, tap the “Record” button. The icon will turn red, indicating that the screen recording has started.
- Record Your Screen: To record your screen, simply navigate to the app or content you want to capture and perform the actions you wish to record. The screen recording will capture everything you do on your iPhone, including taps, swipes, and app interactions.
- Stop Screen Recording: When you’re done recording, tap the red status bar at the top of your screen. A pop-up will appear, asking if you want to stop the screen recording. Tap “Stop” to end the recording.
- Save the Recording: Once you stop the recording, a video file of your screen recording will be saved to your Photos app. You can access it like any other video or share it with others.
Adjust Screen Recording Settings (Optional): You can customize the settings for screen recording in the Control Center settings:
- Change Audio Source: By default, screen recordings capture internal audio (from apps and the device itself). If you want to include your voice or external sounds, you can press and hold the Screen Recording button in Control Center to access additional options and enable “Microphone Audio.”
- Adjust Recording Settings: To change screen recording settings like video resolution and frame rate, go to “Settings” > “Camera” > “Record Video.” The screen recording uses the settings defined for recording video in the Camera app.
Please note that screen recording may not be available for certain apps or in specific situations due to app restrictions or copyright concerns. Always respect others’ privacy and copyright when using screen recording.
