If you’ve forgotten your Facebook password and need to reset it, you can follow these steps to regain access to your account:

Option 1: Using the Facebook Website

  1. Go to the Facebook Login Page: Open your web browser and go to the Facebook login page (www.facebook.com).
  2. Forgot Password: Below the login fields, you’ll see a “Forgot Password?” or “Need Help?” link. Click on it.
  3. Find Your Account: On the next page, you will be prompted to find your account. You can use your email address, phone number, username, or full name associated with your Facebook account. Enter one of these and click “Search.”
  4. Select the Account: If Facebook finds your account, it will be displayed on the screen. Click on your account to proceed.
  5. Verification Method: You’ll be prompted to choose a method to receive a security code for verification. You can choose between:
    • Email: If you have access to the email associated with your account, you can have a code sent there.
    • Text Message (SMS): If you have a mobile phone number associated with your account, you can receive a code via text.
  6. Receive Verification Code: Facebook will send a verification code to the method you selected. Check your email or phone for the code.
  7. Enter Verification Code: Enter the code in the space provided on the Facebook page.
  8. Reset Your Password: After verifying the code, you’ll be prompted to create a new password. Enter the new password, and then confirm it by typing it again in the next field.
  9. Log In: Once you’ve successfully reset your password, you can use it to log in to your Facebook account.

Option 2: Using the Facebook Mobile App

If you prefer to use the Facebook mobile app, you can reset your password using these steps:

  1. Open the Facebook App: Launch the Facebook app on your mobile device.
  2. Forgot Password: On the login screen, tap “Need Help?” or “Forgot Password?” (the exact wording may vary depending on your device).
  3. Select Account: You’ll be asked to enter your email address or phone number associated with your Facebook account. Choose one and tap “Search.”
  4. Verification Method: Select your preferred method for receiving the verification code (email or SMS).
  5. Receive Verification Code: Facebook will send a code to the method you selected. Check your email or phone for the code.
  6. Enter Verification Code: Enter the code on the Facebook app.
