How to Refund a Game on Steam Through Steam Support

As of my last update in September 2021, you can request a refund for a game on Steam through Steam Support. Steam’s refund policy allows you to request a refund for a game if you meet certain criteria, such as requesting the refund within a specified time frame and meeting playtime requirements. Here’s how you can request a refund for a game on Steam:

  1. Visit the Steam Support Website: Open your web browser and go to the Steam Support website:
  2. Log In to Your Steam Account: Click on the “Sign In” button in the upper-right corner and log in to your Steam account.
  3. Access the Refund Request Form: After logging in, click on the “Games, Software, etc.” category to open a drop-down menu, and then click on “A Purchase.” This will take you to the “Purchases” page. Find the game you want to refund and click on it.
  4. Select the Issue with the Game: On the “Purchases” page for the game, you’ll see different options to choose from. Select the issue that best matches your situation. In this case, you’ll likely choose “I would like a refund.”
  5. Complete the Refund Request Form: Fill out the refund request form with the necessary information. You’ll need to provide a reason for the refund and other details as required.
  6. Submit the Refund Request: After completing the form, click on the “Submit” or “Submit Request” button to send your refund request to Steam Support.
  7. Wait for a Response: Steam Support will review your refund request. They will typically respond to your request via email. Be patient, as it may take some time for them to process your request.

It’s important to note that Steam’s refund policy has specific criteria for eligibility. Generally, you can request a refund within 14 days of purchase if you’ve played the game for less than 2 hours. Refunds are subject to approval based on these criteria.

Please keep in mind that refund policies and processes may change over time, so I recommend checking the official Steam Support website or contacting Steam Support directly for the most up-to-date information on how to refund a game on Steam.
