How to Move Notes from “On My iPhone” to iCloud

Moving notes from the “On My iPhone” section to iCloud on an iPhone or iPad is a straightforward process. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Open the “Notes” App: Locate and open the “Notes” app on your iPhone or iPad. This app usually comes pre-installed and has a yellow icon with a notepad on it.
  2. Access “On My iPhone” Notes: In the “Notes” app, tap on the “Folders” button in the top-left corner (it looks like a back arrow). This will reveal a list of your note folders. Look for “On My iPhone” under the “ACCOUNTS” section and tap on it.
  3. Select Notes to Move: Once you’re inside the “On My iPhone” folder, you’ll see a list of notes that are stored locally on your device. Tap the “Edit” button in the top-right corner (it looks like three dots inside a circle).
  4. Choose Notes to Move: A selection circle will appear next to each note. Tap on the circles to select the notes you want to move to iCloud. You can select one or multiple notes at a time.
  5. Move the Notes: After selecting the notes, tap the “Move To…” button at the bottom of the screen.
  6. Choose iCloud as the Destination: You’ll see a list of available folders and accounts. Select “iCloud” from the list as the destination for the notes you want to move.
  7. Move the Notes: Tap “Move” in the top-right corner to move the selected notes to your iCloud account.
  8. Verify the Notes in iCloud: To ensure the notes have been successfully moved, go back to the main “Folders” screen by tapping the back arrow in the top-left corner. Now, select the “iCloud” folder under the “ACCOUNTS” section, and you should see the moved notes there.

That’s it! Your notes are now securely stored in iCloud and can be accessed across all your Apple devices linked to the same iCloud account. If you want to access these notes from a Mac or other Apple devices, make sure they are signed in with the same iCloud account, and the notes will automatically sync.
