How to Hide, Unlist, or Delete a YouTube Video from the Web

To hide, unlist, or delete a YouTube video from the web, you need to access your YouTube Studio (formerly known as YouTube Creator Studio) and make changes to the video’s visibility settings. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Log in to Your YouTube Account:
    • Go to YouTube’s website (youtube.com) and sign in to your YouTube account using your Google credentials.
  2. Access YouTube Studio:
    • Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the YouTube homepage.
    • From the dropdown menu, select “YouTube Studio.”
  3. Navigate to Your Videos:
    • In YouTube Studio, you’ll be on the “Dashboard” tab by default. On the left-hand sidebar, click on “Content” to access your videos.
  4. Locate the Video:
    • Find the video you want to hide, unlist, or delete from the list of your uploaded videos.
  5. Hide or Unlist the Video:
    • Click on the three vertical dots (ellipsis) next to the video you want to modify.
    • From the dropdown menu, you have two options:
      • Hide video: This option will hide the video from your YouTube channel, but the video will still be accessible to viewers who have the direct link to the video. It will not appear on your channel or in search results.
      • Unlisted: This option will make the video unlisted, which means it won’t be publicly visible on your YouTube channel, but anyone with the direct link can view it.
  6. Delete the Video:
    • If you want to permanently remove the video from your channel and YouTube platform, you can select “Delete” from the same dropdown menu.
  7. Confirm Your Choice:
    • After selecting the desired option (Hide, Unlisted, or Delete), YouTube will prompt you to confirm your decision. Review the information and click “Hide video,” “Unlist,” or “Delete” to proceed.

Please note that hiding or unlisting a video will not delete it permanently, and you can still change its visibility back to public later if you wish. However, once you delete a video, it cannot be recovered, and you’ll lose all its data and statistics.

Before making any significant changes to your YouTube videos, consider the impact on your viewers and whether you want to make the content private or completely remove it from your channel. Always double-check your decision before confirming any changes.
