There are three ways to download and install the Standard SATA AHCI Controller Driver on Windows 10.
Method 1: Manually download and install the driver
- Go to the manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver for your computer model.
- Extract the downloaded file to a location on your computer.
- Open Device Manager and expand the “IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers” category.
- Right-click on the “Standard SATA AHCI Controller” and select “Update driver”.
- Select “Browse my computer for driver software”.
- Select the folder where you extracted the downloaded driver files.
- Click “Next”.
- Windows will install the driver.
- Restart your computer.
Method 2: Use Windows Update to install the driver
- Open Device Manager and expand the “IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers” category.
- Right-click on the “Standard SATA AHCI Controller” and select “Update driver”.
- Select “Search automatically for updated driver software”.
- Windows will search for and install the latest driver.
- Restart your computer if prompted.
Method 3: Use a third-party driver updater tool
- Download and install a third-party driver updater tool, such as Driver Booster or Driver Easy.
- Open the driver updater tool and scan your computer for outdated drivers.
- Select the “Standard SATA AHCI Controller” driver and click “Update”.
- The driver updater tool will download and install the latest driver.
- Restart your computer if prompted.
