There are two ways to close apps on an iPhone 12:
-
From the Home Screen:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the App Switcher.
- Swipe left or right to find the app that you want to close.
- Swipe up on the app’s preview to close it.
-
From the App:
- Double-click the Home button.
- Swipe left or right to find the app that you want to close.
- Swipe up on the app’s preview to close it.
Note that you do not need to close apps on your iPhone 12 to save battery life. iOS automatically manages apps in the background, so they will only use battery power if they are actively using resources.
However, if you are experiencing performance issues with your iPhone 12, you may want to close some of the apps that you are not using. You can also force an app to close if it is not responding.
To force an app to close on your iPhone 12:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the App Switcher.
- Find the app that you want to force close.
- Press and hold on the app’s preview until it starts to wiggle.
- Tap the red minus button in the top-left corner of the app’s preview.
- Tap Force Close to confirm.
