Changing your Google profile picture can be done through your Google Account settings. However, please keep in mind that Google’s interface and processes may change over time, so the steps might be slightly different in the future. Nevertheless, here are the general steps to change your Google profile picture as of my last update:
- Go to Google Account Settings: Open your web browser and navigate to the Google Account page. You can do this by visiting or by clicking on your profile picture in the top right corner of any Google service (like Gmail or Google Drive) and selecting “Manage your Google Account.”
- Sign In (if necessary): If you aren’t already signed in to your Google account, you’ll be prompted to sign in with your email and password.
- Access “Personal info & privacy”: Once you’re in your Google Account settings, look for the section that says “Personal info & privacy.” Click on it to expand the options.
- Click on “Your personal info”: Within the “Personal info & privacy” section, click on “Your personal info.”
- Edit Profile Picture: You should now see your current profile picture displayed at the top. Click on the profile picture or the “CHANGE” button next to it.
- Choose a New Profile Picture: A pop-up window will appear, giving you options to select a new profile picture. You can choose from various sources like your Google Photos, upload an image from your computer, or take a new photo if you’re on a device with a camera.
- Crop and Set New Picture: After selecting or uploading a new picture, you might be prompted to crop or adjust it to fit the profile picture dimensions. Follow the on-screen instructions to make any necessary adjustments.
- Save Changes: Once you’re satisfied with the new profile picture, click the “Set as profile photo” or “Save” button (the exact wording may vary). Your new profile picture will then be set.
- Confirm Changes (if necessary): If prompted, you might need to confirm your action before the changes take effect.
That’s it! Your Google profile picture should now be updated with the new image you selected. Remember that it may take some time for the changes to reflect across all Google services and devices.
If you encounter any issues or if the steps have changed since my last update, I recommend checking the official Google support documentation or the How-To Geek website for the most up-to-date instructions.
