Blocking a number on an iPhone is a simple process and can be done from various apps depending on where you encountered the number you want to block. Here are three ways to do it:
1. From the Phone App:
- Open the Phone app.
- Tap on the “Recents” tab.
- Find the number you want to block and tap the “i” icon next to it.
- Scroll down and tap “Block this Caller.”
- Confirm by tapping “Block Contact.”
2. From the Messages App:
- Open the Messages app.
- Open the conversation with the number you want to block.
- Tap the contact’s name or number at the top of the screen.
- Tap “Info.”
- Scroll down and tap “Block this Caller.”
- Confirm by tapping “Block Contact.”
3. From the Settings App:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap on “Phone.”
- Tap on “Blocked Contacts.”
- Tap “Add New.”
- Enter the phone number you want to block or select it from your contacts.
- Tap “Add.”
Additional Information:
- Blocking a number will prevent them from calling, texting, or FaceTimeing you.
- They will still be able to leave a voicemail, but you will not receive a notification.
- Messages sent or received from a blocked number will not be delivered to either party.
- You can manage your list of blocked contacts in the Settings app, under “Phone” > “Blocked Contacts.”
