How to Turn Off an Android Phone

There are two ways to turn off an Android phone:

Method 1:

  1. Press and hold the power button for a few seconds.
  2. Tap on “Power off”.

Method 2:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification shade.
  2. Tap on the gear icon to open the Settings app.
  3. Tap on “System”.
  4. Tap on “Advanced”.
  5. Tap on “Power off”.
  6. Tap on “Power off” again to confirm.

If your phone is frozen or unresponsive, you can force it to turn off by pressing and holding the power button and the volume down button at the same time for about 10 seconds. This will restart your phone.
