Rank Math offers two methods for verifying your website on Google Search Console: manual and automatic.
Manual Verification:
Get the Verification Code: Head over to Google Search Console (https://search.google.com/search-console/about) and start the verification process for your website. Choose the “HTML tag” verification method and copy the provided code.
Paste the Code in Rank Math: In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Rank Math SEO > General Settings > Webmaster Tools. Locate the Google Search Console section and paste the copied verification code into the designated field.
Verify Ownership: Once you’ve saved the changes in Rank Math, return to Google Search Console and click the “Verify” button to finalize ownership verification.
Automatic Verification (Requires Rank Math Analytics Module):
Enable Analytics Module: Ensure the Rank Math Analytics module is activated. You can find this setting under Rank Math SEO > General Settings > Analytics.
Connect Google Account: Within the Analytics settings, connect your website to the Google account that holds ownership of your Search Console property.
Choose Property: After connecting your account, a drop-down menu should appear displaying available Search Console properties. Select the appropriate property for your website.
Save Changes: Click “Save Changes” to initiate the automatic verification process. Rank Math will handle the communication with Google Search Console in the background.
Additional Notes:
- Automatic verification might take some time to complete. Be patient and allow Rank Math to establish the connection.
- Rank Math supports verification for other platforms besides Google Search Console. You can find similar options within the Webmaster Tools section for platforms like Bing, Baidu, and Yandex.
