Here are some things to keep in mind when sending a friend request:

  • The person you are sending the request to must have a public profile in order for you to see it.
  • If the person has their privacy settings set to “Friends Only,” you will not be able to send them a friend request unless you are already friends with them.
  • You can only send a friend request to up to 5,000 people.
  • If the person you are sending the request to does not accept it, you will not be able to see their posts or send them messages.

Here are some tips for sending friend requests:

  • Only send friend requests to people you know and trust.
  • If you are not sure if you know someone, you can always send them a message first to introduce yourself.
  • Be sure to include a personal message when you send a friend request. This will help the person you are sending the request to know why you are interested in being friends with them.
  • If you are sending a friend request to someone you know through work or school, you can mention that in your message.
  • If you are sending a friend request to someone you met online, you can mention how you met them in your message.
  • Be patient. Not everyone will accept your friend request right away.
