There are two ways to install a WordPress theme:
- Install a theme from the WordPress Theme Directory
The WordPress Theme Directory is a repository of free and premium themes that can be installed with a single click. To install a theme from the Theme Directory, follow these steps:
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Go to Appearance > Themes.
- Click Add New.
- In the search bar, enter a keyword or phrase that describes the type of theme you are looking for.
- Click Search.
- Browse through the results and select the theme you want to install.
- Click Install.
- Once the theme is installed, click Activate.
- Install a theme from an external source
You can also install a theme from an external source, such as a theme developer’s website or a theme marketplace. To install a theme from an external source, follow these steps:
- Download the theme file to your computer.
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Go to Appearance > Themes.
- Click Add New.
- Click Upload Theme.
- Click Choose File and select the theme file you downloaded in step 1.
- Click Install Now.
- Once the theme is installed, click Activate.
Once you have installed a theme, you can customize it to your liking by changing the colors, fonts, and layout. You can also add widgets and plugins to extend the functionality of your website.
