How to Enable and Disable the Hibernate Option in Windows 11
The Hibernate option allows you to save the state of your computer and shut it down, so that when you turn it back on, you can pick up right where you left off. Here’s how to enable and disable the Hibernate option in Windows 11:
To Enable Hibernate:
- Click on the Start menu button in the bottom left corner of your screen.
- Type “Power Options” into the search bar and click on the result.
- Select “Choose what the power buttons do” from the left-hand menu.
- Click on “Change settings that are currently unavailable” to enable the Hibernate option.
- Scroll down and check the box next to “Hibernate”.
- Click on “Save changes” to save the settings.
To Disable Hibernate:
- Follow steps 1-3 from the instructions above.
- Scroll down and uncheck the box next to “Hibernate”
- Click on “Save changes” to save the settings.
Note: If you don’t see the Hibernate option in your power settings, it may be because your computer’s hardware or firmware doesn’t support it. Additionally, if your computer has hybrid sleep option, the hibernate option will be disabled automatically.
