To calculate the median in Microsoft Excel, follow these steps:

  1. Open Microsoft Excel and enter your data into a column or row. For example, you might have a list of numbers in cells A1 through A10.
  2. Click on an empty cell where you want to display the median value. For example, if you want to display the median value in cell B1, click on that cell.
  3. Type the formula “=MEDIAN(A1:A10)” into the formula bar at the top of the Excel window. This tells Excel to calculate the median for the range of cells A1 through A10.
  4. Press Enter on your keyboard. The median value will be displayed in the cell you selected in step 2.

Alternatively, you can use the “Insert Function” feature in Excel to calculate the median:

  1. Click on an empty cell where you want to display the median value.

  3. In the “Insert Function” dialog box, select “Statistical” from the categories list.
  4. Select “MEDIAN” from the list of functions and click “OK”.
