PSA: You Can Still Download the Old Free Version of SketchUp

SketchUp is a popular 3D modeling software that has a free version called SketchUp Make, which was discontinued in 2017. However, it is still possible to download the old free version of SketchUp from the official website. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to the SketchUp website at www.sketchup.com.
  2. Click on the “Download” button in the top menu.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “All Download Options.”
  4. Scroll down to the “SketchUp Make 2017” section and click on “Download.”
  5. Follow the prompts to download and install SketchUp Make 2017.

Note that SketchUp Make 2017 is not the most current version of SketchUp, and it does not have all of the features of the paid version. Additionally, it is no longer supported by SketchUp, so you may experience issues with compatibility or stability. However, if you just need to create basic 3D models and don’t want to pay for the full version, SketchUp Make 2017 is still a viable option.

It’s important to note that using a discontinued version of software can come with certain risks, such as potential security vulnerabilities or incompatibilities with newer operating systems or hardware. As such, it’s always a good idea to exercise caution and be aware of these risks before downloading and using any older software.
