Migos Rapper Takeoff Dead at 28, Shot in Houston

Takeoff, one of the three members of the hip-hop group Migos, was shot and killed in Houston on Monday, July 10, 2023. He was 28 years old.

The shooting took place in the early morning hours in the city’s East End neighborhood. Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene.

Takeoff was born Kirshnik Khari Ball in Lawrenceville, Georgia, in 1994. He began rapping with his cousins Quavo and Offset in the early 2010s, and the three formed Migos.

The group released their debut album, Yung Rich Nation, in 2013. They followed that up with a string of successful albums, including Culture (2017), Culture II (2018), and Culture III (2021).

Migos were one of the most popular hip-hop groups in the world. They won several Grammy Awards and were nominated for many more.
