How to Turn Off Mouse Acceleration Completely in Windows 10

Disabling mouse acceleration in Windows 10 is a straightforward process that can be accomplished in a few simple steps.

  1. Open the Mouse Properties window. There are two ways to do this:
    • Click the Start button and type “Mouse”. In the search results, click “Mouse”.
    • Right-click the Start button and select “Control Panel”. In Control Panel, click “Hardware and Sound”. Then, click “Mouse”.

  2. Click the Pointer Options tab.
  3. Uncheck the Enhance pointer precision box. This will disable mouse acceleration.
    Enhance pointer precision box
  4. Click Apply and then OK.

Your mouse acceleration is now disabled. You may notice that your mouse cursor moves more slowly than it did before. This is because mouse acceleration artificially increases the speed of your mouse cursor when you move it quickly. Without mouse acceleration, the speed of your mouse cursor will be more consistent.
