How to Close Apps on Any iPhone Model

Closing apps on an iPhone is a straightforward process, and it’s the same for most iPhone models. Here’s how to close apps on any iPhone model running iOS 12 or later:

  1. Access the App Switcher:
    • On iPhone X and later models (iPhone XR, XS, 11, 12, etc.):
      • Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen.
    • On older iPhone models (iPhone 8 and earlier):
      • Double-press the Home button (the physical button on the front of the device).
  2. View Open Apps:
    • You’ll see a card-like interface that displays all the open apps on your device. You can swipe left or right to scroll through the list of apps.
  3. Close an App:
    • To close an app, swipe it up or off the screen. On iPhone X and later models, swipe the app’s card upwards; on older models, swipe the app’s card upwards or off the screen to the left or right.
  4. Return to Home Screen:
    • After closing the desired apps, press the Home button (for older models) or swipe up from the bottom (for iPhone X and later models) to return to the Home screen.

That’s it! You’ve successfully closed apps on your iPhone. It’s important to note that iOS is designed to manage apps efficiently in the background, and you don’t need to regularly close apps to save battery life or improve performance. However, manually closing apps can be useful in cases where an app becomes unresponsive or if you want to free up memory.
