A 29-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement in connection with the alleged sexual assault of two women during job interviews at a North York office building.
The man, who has not been identified, is alleged to have sexually assaulted the women during separate interviews at the building on June 29 and July 7.
The victims, who are both in their 20s, were not physically injured during the assaults.
The man was arrested on Tuesday, July 12, and is scheduled to appear in court on July 21.
Police are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of women in the workplace. The Toronto Police Service has said that it is taking the allegations seriously and is committed to investigating them thoroughly.
The Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) has also released a statement condemning the alleged assaults and calling for increased protections for women in the workplace.
