Two Russian cargo ships carrying oil products are in distress in the Kerch Strait between Russia and annexed Crimea due to bad weather. A helicopter rescue team has flown to the site of one vessel, “Volgoneft 212,” which was damaged after running aground. The 13-strong crew has been evacuated, and one person is known to have died. The ministry of emergency situations is working with over 50 specialists and 11 units of equipment to assess the extent of a possible oil spill.
