A 29-year-old Uzbek national has been detained in Russia for the assassination of General Igor Kirillov. The suspect confessed to being recruited by Ukrainian intelligence to kill Kirillov.
He was given a homemade explosive device and offered a $100,000 cash reward and a trip to a European country. Kirillov was in charge of the Russian military’s nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons protection forces.
