A Russian oil tanker carrying thousands of tonnes of oil spilled into the Kerch Strait during a heavy storm. The 136-metre Volgoneft 212 tanker, carrying 15 people, split in half with its bow sinking, while another tanker was also in distress after sustaining damage. At least one person was killed. Both tankers had a loading capacity of about 4,200 tonnes oil products. More than 50 people and equipment were deployed to the area.
