How to Turn Off Silent Mode on iPhone

To turn off Silent Mode on an iPhone, follow these steps:

  1. Check the Ring/Silent switch located on the left side of the iPhone. If the switch is pushed down toward the back of the phone and you see an orange stripe, then your iPhone is in silent mode.
  2. To turn off Silent Mode, flip the Ring/Silent switch up towards the front of the phone until the orange stripe disappears. This will turn off Silent Mode and your iPhone will now ring for incoming calls and notifications.
  3. You can also turn off Silent Mode by going to the Control Center. Swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen (or up from the bottom of the screen for iPhones with a home button) to open the Control Center. Look for the bell icon and tap it to turn off Silent Mode. The bell icon should no longer be highlighted.

Note that Silent Mode only affects ringer and alert sounds. You will still be able to hear music, videos, and other audio even when your iPhone is in Silent Mode.
