If you have accidentally moved a window off-screen, making it appear as if it’s lost, there are a few things you can try to move it back to your desktop:
- Use the keyboard shortcut: Alt + Tab. This will allow you to cycle through all open windows, including the one that’s off-screen. Once you have selected the off-screen window, press Alt + Space to open the window’s system menu. From there, select “Move” using the arrow keys, and then use the arrow keys to move the window back onto the desktop.
- Use the keyboard shortcut: Windows Key + Left/Right Arrow. This will snap the current window to the left or right half of the screen, respectively. If the off-screen window is already open and active, this may bring it back onto the desktop.
- Use the keyboard shortcut: Windows Key + Up Arrow. This will maximize the current window, which may bring the off-screen window back onto the desktop.
- Use the taskbar. If the off-screen window is minimized, right-click on the taskbar and select “Cascade windows” or “Show windows stacked” to bring all minimized windows back onto the desktop.
- Adjust display settings. If none of the above methods work, it’s possible that the off-screen window is displaying on a secondary display that is not connected or turned on. In this case, adjust your display settings to ensure that all displays are detected and set up correctly.
Note: These methods may not work for all situations, and it’s possible that the off-screen window may be permanently lost.
