- Enter the Steam username of the person you want to add in the search field. If their profile is public, it should appear in the search results. Click on their username to view their profile and click the “Add Friend” button to send a friend request.
- If you know the person’s Steam Community ID (a unique identifier assigned to each Steam account), you can enter it in the search field directly. Steam Community IDs are typically a string of numbers, such as “76561197960287930”. Once you enter the ID, click “Search” and proceed to send a friend request if the correct profile appears.
- After sending a friend request, the other person will need to accept it before you become friends on Steam. Once they accept, you will be able to communicate, play games together, and access their Steam profile.
