How to Delete Messages on Facebook

To delete messages on Facebook, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open Facebook: Launch your web browser and go to the Facebook website at “https://www.facebook.com“. Log in to your Facebook account if you haven’t already.
  2. Go to Messenger: Once you’re logged in, locate the Messenger icon at the top-right corner of the Facebook page. It looks like a speech bubble. Click on it to open the Messenger interface.
  3. Find the conversation: In the Messenger interface, locate the conversation that contains the messages you want to delete. Conversations are listed on the left side of the screen. Click on the conversation to open it.
  4. Select messages to delete: Within the conversation, locate the specific messages you wish to delete. Hover your mouse cursor over the message, and you’ll see a three-dot icon (ellipsis) appear on the right side of the message bubble. Click on the icon to reveal a dropdown menu.
  5. Delete a single message: If you want to delete a single message, click on the ellipsis icon and select “Delete” from the dropdown menu. A confirmation prompt will appear asking if you want to delete the message. Click “Delete” to confirm.
  6. Delete multiple messages: If you want to delete multiple messages, click on the ellipsis icon of each message you wish to remove and select “Delete” from the dropdown menu. Repeat this process for all the messages you want to delete.
  7. Delete an entire conversation: If you want to delete the entire conversation, click on the gear icon at the top-right corner of the conversation window. From the dropdown menu, select “Delete”. A confirmation prompt will appear asking if you want to delete the conversation. Click “Delete” to confirm.
  8. Confirm deletion: After selecting the delete option, Facebook will ask you to confirm your action. Review the messages or conversation you’ve chosen to delete and click on “Delete” to permanently remove them.

Note: When you delete messages or conversations on Facebook, they will be removed from your account, but they may still appear in the recipient’s account unless they also delete them.
