How to Check Traffic in Google Maps

How to Check Traffic in Google Maps

There are a few ways to check traffic in Google Maps.

On a computer

  1. Go to Google Maps.
  2. In the bottom left corner of the map, click the Layers icon.
  3. Check the Traffic box.

The map will now show real-time traffic data. Red lines indicate heavy traffic, orange lines indicate moderate traffic, and yellow lines indicate light traffic.

On a mobile device

  1. Open the Google Maps app.
  2. In the top right corner of the map, tap the Layers icon.
  3. Tap Traffic.

The map will now show real-time traffic data. Red lines indicate heavy traffic, orange lines indicate moderate traffic, and yellow lines indicate light traffic.

You can also get more information about traffic conditions by hovering over a traffic line. A pop-up will appear with information about the current traffic speed and estimated travel time.

Tips

  • You can zoom in or out on the map to see more or less detail about the traffic conditions.
  • You can also use the search bar to find a specific location and see the traffic conditions for that area.
  • If you’re planning a trip, you can use Google Maps to get real-time traffic updates and plan your route accordingly.
