McDonald’s is counting the losses after leaving Russia

The US multinational fast food company McDonald’s has lost millions of dollars due to the closure of its business in Russia in protest of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. At the same time many foods have been wasted. This was reported in a report of the US media CNN on Friday.

Earlier last month, McDonald’s announced that it was temporarily closing its restaurants in Russia due to attacks in Ukraine. At the same time, they have closed restaurants in Ukraine. McDonald’s lost কোটি 126 million in the last quarter (three months).

According to McDonald’s, about 650 restaurants in Russia have been temporarily closed. However, they will go to Russia with the salaries of about 72,000 workers. Chris Kemkaizinski, the company’s chief executive, said: “We will continue to provide salaries and additional assistance to workers in both countries.

According to the CNN report, the restaurant was closed, but in addition to paying staff and additional financial support, the restaurant had to pay কোটি 28 million for rent and supplies. The closure of the restaurant caused a loss of কোটি 100 million in food and other products.

At the end of last year, McDonald’s had 647 restaurants in Russia. There are also 108 other restaurants in Ukraine. In 2021, 9 percent of the company’s total revenue came from these two countries.
