How to Change the Chrome Download Folder Location

By default, Google Chrome saves downloaded files to the Downloads folder on your computer. However, if you prefer to save your downloads to a different folder, you can change the download folder location in Chrome. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Open Google Chrome Launch Google Chrome by clicking on its icon in the taskbar or by searching for it in the Start menu.

Step 2: Access Chrome Settings Click on the three-dot icon located at the top right corner of the Chrome window to open the main menu. From the dropdown menu, select “Settings.”

Step 3: Go to Advanced Settings Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings page and click on the “Advanced” option to expand the advanced settings.

Step 4: Locate Downloads Section Under the “Advanced” section, scroll down to find the “Downloads” section.

Step 5: Change Download Folder Location Click on the “Change” button next to “Location” to open a new window.

Step 6: Choose New Download Location In the new window, navigate to the folder where you want to save your downloads and select it. Then, click “OK” to confirm the new download location.

Step 7: Save Changes After you have selected your new download folder location, click on the “Done” button to save the changes.

That’s it! From now on, all of your downloads will be saved to the new location that you specified.

Note: If you want to switch back to the default download location, simply click on the “Reset” button next to the “Location” option in the Chrome Settings.
